ARH x Republic Polytechnic: Performance-Making for Neurodiverse Audiences 2024
This workshop aims to introduce the principles and practices of creating and presenting performances and events that are accessible and inclusive for neurodiverse audiences.
Participants will gain insights into the various social and cognitive needs of neurodiverse audiences, identify potential barriers to access and, through this interactive session, explore practical strategies for creating an inclusive and welcoming environment that would meet the needs of neurodiverse audiences.
Course Objectives and Learning Outcomes
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
Examine the barriers to access and inclusion and their impact on the neurodiverse audience
Discover various practices and develop strategies that can be used to enhance an inclusive audience experience
Implement strategies to promote inclusitivity and accessibility in event planning
Reflect on personal creative practices and how they impact approaches to creating performances and events for neurodiverse audiences
