This festival is part of the Arts Resource Hub's strategy to provide a platform to grow communities of practice in the arts, to enable artists to share their experiences and to support each other's professional growth in areas such as creative producing and production, "artprenuership", building networks as well as creative connections, marketing & partnerships.
Visitors can look forward to a diverse line-up of cross-disciplinary performances, interactive workshops, captivating exhibitions, film screenings, a creative market and more over the 8-day festival.
Kampung Halloween is proudly organised by PlayPan, directed by Dr Woo Yen Yen and presented in partnership with Arts Resource Hub.

Creative Connections: Mastering Marketing and Partnerships

About the Facilitator:
Yvonne Zhang - SEA Internal Sustainability Director of Deloitte
In her day job, she builds solutions to help companies and communities adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change. She is an occasional collaborator with artists and makers of assistive technology and building solutions. She is a regular contributor to international standards in sustainability, trade digitalisation and DLT interoperability, she is a lecturer of innovation, art lover and lifelong space technology enthusiast. Yvonne holds double degrees in Law and Commerce from the University of Sydney.

About the Panelists:
Grace Kalaiselvi - Independent Theatre Actor, Director, Educator, Writer
An alumna of Intercultural Theatre Institute, she creates works representing suppressed voices. Her works include Come Back Home (Polyglot Theatre Australia); Paper Paravai & Amma’s Sarees (The Esplanade); Rasanai & 3FVU (T:>works’ N.O.W Festival); and Angry Indian Woman-The Trial (Singapore Writer’s Festival). She has also been nominated for the Life Theatre Awards and Asian Television Awards.
ARAIKREVA - Artist
She pursues creative endeavours head first with big curiosities and bigger passion to fill. Her eye for details transcends her artworks into stories and conversations for her audience.
Jake Tan - New Media Artist and Co-Founder and Tech Lead of SERIAL CO_
His practice and studio pioneers new-age Dynamic Digital Formats, merges Digital Intervention with Traditional Art, and advances Experiential Development in Creative Technology, Blockchain, and Extended Reality (XR). With a focus on blending nature, technology, and society, Jake's creations have reached exhibitions and residencies across Singapore, Japan, Korea, Turkey, Austria, and Germany. His practice encompasses the techniques of microcontroller programming, 3D printing, AR/VR/MR experiences, and full stack development.

About the Panelists:
Dapheny Chen - Independent Dance Artist
Her practice prioritises the dancing body, revisiting archived movement within the living body to re-frame, re-inform, and re-educate the way dance and choreography are made, viewed, and engaged with. She explores labour practices, questioning the value, sustainability, and economics of artistic work. By examining how dance is produced and consumed, she advocates for equitable practices in the field. Collaborating with inanimate objects, technology, and alternative documentation processes, she seeks to develop actionable research through performance and academia, fostering global dialogues on dance labour and value.
Ernest Wu - Co-Founder of SERIAL CO_
As a visual artist Ernest Wu has exhibited globally and teaches at LASALLE College of the Arts and in Nanyang Technological University, School of Art, Design and Media.

About the Speakers:
Rosalind Lim - Founder of Art Apart Fair
Her impressive career includes leadership roles at Microsoft, Edelman, Hill & Knowlton, and Ogilvy PR, where she refined her expertise in promoting contemporary art. Lim has provided consultancy for Ikkan Art Gallery and the National Gallery Singapore, enhancing their efforts to elevate visual art. An avid art collector since the 1970s, she showcases emerging artists in prestigious hotels across Singapore, Seoul, Hong Kong, and London. As a freelance art consultant, she researches established artists for corporate investments while exploring residency programs in Europe and Asia to promote cultural exchange for visual artists.
Dr Woo Yen Yen - Culture Maker, Teacher
Her experiments as a culture maker include film (>1M audience); children’s comics (>1K schools and libraries); apps (> 100K downloads); stage (> 40K audience). She directed the award-winning film, Singapore Dreaming and founded Dim Sum Warriors, the bilingual comics series and edtech start-up. She also produced and wrote Dim Sum Warriors the Musical which played in 26 cities in China. Her work has been published or screened on platforms like Netflix, HBO, App Store, Google Play Store, Singapore Airlines, the Smithsonian Institution and the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
Riduan Zalani - Performer, Producer
Riduan has demonstrated great versatility throughout his career as both a performer and producer in the field of drums and percussion. He is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Nadi Singapura, an ensemble that is determined to etch its brand of traditional Malay drums and music performance into the hearts and minds of audiences.
Michael Cheng - Applied Drama Practitioner, Educator
He teaches applied drama in Singapore and internationally as a freelance trainer and adjunct lecturer. Engaging with special education schools, Michael uses drama to promote social-emotional learning and collaborates with teachers to enhance their pedagogy. He is the Artistic Director of Tapestry Playback Theatre and a member of the Singapore Drama Educators Association (SDEA). Michael holds a Master’s in Arts Pedagogy and Practice from Goldsmiths, University of London, supported by the National Arts Council (Singapore)’s Arts Scholarship.

Instead of looking outside for professional development, this workshop taps into the collective knowledge and skills of our community. Join a small group with a self-appointed facilitator, share your expertise, and learn from others in a collaborative and informal setting. Feel free to move between groups to explore different topics and find the best fit for the questions you are asking for your practice. Come ready to share knowledge and ask questions such as:
How to pitch a project?
How to find and choose collaborators?
What regulations and licenses do I need?
How do residencies work?
How do I get a commission?
How do I raise funds? How do grants work?
How to make a basic kit for promoting yourself?
How to set up a company? Which arts entity to choose? (Limited, Sole Proprietorship, Pte Ltd, Society?)
